Port Authority Board Approves Selection of Design-Build Team for the $2.7 Billion Redevelopment of Newark Liberty’s New Terminal One
Replacement of outdated Terminal A will vastly improve passenger experience and travel efficiency from roadway access through check-In and gate arrival. Program is expected to generate more than $4.6 billion in regional economic activity overall, and create 23,120 job-years and provide more than $1.9 billion in wages. Construction already underway on roadway related infrastructure projects; work anticipated to begin on terminal by mid-year. Largest transportation infrastructure design-build contract in New Jersey state history; World-Class terminal operator to serve as key advisor.
Plans for a new Terminal One at Newark Liberty International Airport advanced today with the Port Authority’s Board of Commissioner’s approval of Tutor Perini/Parsons, a fully integrated joint venture between Tutor Perini Corporation and Parsons Transportation Group Inc., for the design and construction of the new 21st century facility, which will provide passengers with a world-class customer experience, create jobs and boost the region’s economy.
