The Award-winning Terminal B

The opening of LaGuardia Airport's new $4 billion world-class Terminal B in 2022 represented a major milestone in the airport's transformation. The 1.3-million-square-foot terminal replaced the former outdated and cramped one with a spacious, modern facility that meets the demands of today’s travelers. The new Terminal B’s unique design comprises two island concourses accessed by two pedestrian bridges that span active aircraft taxi lanes. The terminal's centerpiece is a vibrant 850,000-square-foot arrivals and departures headhouse flooded with natural light from soaring floor-to-ceiling windows and 60-foot-high ceilings.

Terminal B pays homage to the best of New York City through art installations, outposts of local restaurants and shops, and indoor green space that recreates urban pocket parks. Departing passengers have four check-in islands and plentiful kiosks to move them quickly to security where state-of-the-art technology expedites screening while prioritizing passenger safety. An increased number of baggage carousels makes locating luggage easier and dedicated levels for arrivals, departures, and ride share help passengers quickly find their rides.
